2. Honey - 3 table spoons
Honey has been used for medicinal purposes for more than 2000 years.
Recently its anti bacterial and anti septic properties have been medically explained.
Nutrient value per 5 table spoons :
Energy - 300 Kcal
Carbohydrate - 82.4 g
Sugar - 82.12 g
Small percentages of fiber, niacin, foliate, iron and vitamin c are there.
3. Roasted nuts and dried fruits - 1 cup
Consuming nuts like almond and walnuts reduce LDL level
4. Jaggery - 100 g
Unlike refined sugar, jaggery retains more mineral salts.
Jaggery is rich in iron.
5. Water - enough to soak jaggery
METHOD OF PREPARATION :
1. Take a wok and dry roast the rice flakes in a low fire till crisp
or
Microwave for 30 seconds
2. Grease a plate and spread the dried nuts ( nuts should be pounded in to granules ) and dried fruits.
3. Heat a a pan and put the jaggery. Add water and make thick syrup.
To test the right consistency, put a spoon of syrup in a bowl of water.
Feel it with the finger and if you are able to roll it, it is the correct consistency.
4. Now pour the syrup over the roasted flakes and stir it with a ladle.
5. Add honey.
6. Pour it on the greased plate and over the nuts.
Cut them in to squares.
